Hi there, nice to have you here! I am into music that resonates. I seamlessly blend classical music, jazz standards and my own compositions.

My uncle Bernd showed me in the late 80s what harmony and improvisation mean — and that moment never really left me.

What always comes first is the tone and the feeling. Whether I am playing a piece by someone else or something entirely my own, what matters is the honesty of the moment.

In a world where handmade music is becoming increasingly rare, my music stands out through its improvisations, soulful sounds, and pioneering spirit.

I not only like to challenge the audience, but also myself: every performance is different and like no other.

Sonor Original Composition
Merano Variations

Seven pieces, recorded in a single take each. No edits, no second attempts, only what happened in that moment.

I found this place in 2014, cycling through the Vinschgau valley with my son Niksa. Later it became a hideaway, a room designed entirely toward my own sense of comfort and sound. A lot of wood, soft textiles, a view of the mountains. The kind of place where you stop checking the time and start listening instead.

I recorded this album there, in Merano, South Tyrol, Italy, on a custom-built Una Corda Wood Piano, solid wood throughout, one string per note, tuned to 435 Hz. A quieter, calmer sound than what most pianos give you. Depending on the piece, I worked with different string preparations, from thin fleece to thick felt, so the same instrument speaks in different voices across the album.

The music itself moves between worlds: original compositions alongside pieces that have shaped me since childhood, some going back decades. All of it found its way to this room, this piano, these seven pieces.

My music arises from a love of nature and people. Organic, not intellectual.

I would like to thank my mother. She carries music in her heart. And my father. Overall, he is a true improviser. That has inspired and shaped me.

I grew up in Cologne, where the piano found me early — and never let go. I don't remember the first moment. I only remember that it was always there.

In 1977, driving through Sardinia with my parents, I heard Keith Jarrett for the first time. That sound never left me — not in all the years that followed. Not as a role model, but as a companion.

My uncle Bernd showed me in the late 80s what harmony means. The first 2-5-1 progressions. The moment where jazz suddenly made sense.

Over the decades, my musical language grew through listening — to classical compositions, jazz standards, and pieces that grew out of deeply personal moments.

The piano is not an instrument for me. It is the language in which I am deepest and most at peace.

Every instrument
tells a different story.

Aram's debut album "Merano Variations" was recorded on a Una Corda Wood Piano in Merano, Italy — an instrument built in Latvia, one string per note, tuned to 435 Hz. A quieter, more intimate sound than most pianos give you.

On November 14th, he brings this music to life — and beyond. The evening features pieces and improvisations from the album, performed on the very instrument the recordings were made on: the Una Corda Wood Piano from Latvia. No piece sounds like on the recording. Everything happens in the moment — shaped by the room and the audience.

"The audience is part of the performance.
Without them, the music isn't finished."

An evening for all those who don't just want to hear music — but feel it.
